Following in the tracks of primitive men

This programme is meant for the pupils of the 6th grade. During the illustrative lesson it is possible to improve one’s knowledge in prehistory of our region. You could get acquainted with 10 thousand year-old archaeological subjects: bone and horn instruments and bronze jewellery. A rich archaeological collection of the museum will enlarge your knowledge and interest in history. You could spend your time interestingly, take part in a quiz and fill in the working forms.

Medieval knights and Dinaburg castle

This programme is meant for the pupils of the 7th grade. During the illustrative lesson you will get to know about crusaders’ campaign, armament, weapons, building of the secure strongholds and history of Dinaburg castle that was built in 1275 on the bank of river Daugava by the knights of Livonian order. This is an exciting travelling to medieval times. Taking part in the ceremony of ordination of the knights and solving puzzles you would get into the role of the knight.

What hides behind the thesaurus door

This programme is meant for all age groups. You will visit the inventory storehouse and get acquainted with various collections (ceramics, watch, samovars, etc). Solving different tasks you will get to know about ancient trades and skills in using household commodities.

Let’s become acquainted with the Latgalian ceramics

This programme is meant for all age groups. You will visit a national atelier of the applied art studio “Latgale”, you will get to know about the history and traditions of Latgalian ceramics and you will have the opportunity to check your skills in modelling clay figures.
