Around the town
During the excursion it is possible to get acquainted with the original town-planning monument of the 19thcentury – the historical centre of Daugavpils with the empire and art nouveau buildings. The unique building is Vienibas house – a monumental architecture monument of the independent Republic of Latvia. Daugavpils is one of the rarest places, where it is possible to view churches of four different confessions: orthodox Boris and Gleb cathedral, old-believer’s chapel of St. Nikolaj, Lutheran church of Martin Luther and Catholic Church of the Virgin Maria. That is why this place is called a church hill. The decoration of the town is the 19th century Dubrovin Park.
